Privacy Policy

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), requires all businesses organisations, who collect and use personal information, to do so in a manner that protects your privacy and rights. The GDPR covers the processing of all personal data. I treat your data with the utmost care and will only use or share it for the purposes agreed with you in advance.


Any personal or family details discussed are purely for the purposes of writing your ceremony, which you will see and approve. I will not disclose these details to anyone who is not a guest at, or connected to your ceremony, without your express written consent. All notes taken are shredded after use. Scripts are retained on secure computer files. Printed scripts are destroyed after use except a paper copy of the script that I will send to you after the ceremony.
 

All personally identifiable data will be destroyed after six years of the ceremony taking place.


We will not give your personal data to any third party, except where required to do so by law under duress of any legal proceeding or investigation.
 

Right of Access


You have the right to obtain confirmation that your personal data is being processed by Leah Foley, Civil Celebrant and what personal data is held.


You may make your request at any time and by any reasonable means (letter, telephone, e-mail) although it is preferred that you make contact in writing, detailing the precise nature of your request so that there can be no misunderstanding.

Terms & Conditions

1. Booking and Payment

a) Payments are accepted by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Cheque payments require 10 working days for clearance.

b) A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.

c) The ceremony will not be delivered on the due date in the absence of full, cleared payment. 

d) The booking is not accepted, and no contract exists, until payment is received (or cleared in the case of cheques). If the booking is not accepted, the deposit paid and submitted with the booking form will be refunded to you.

e) Alteration or cancellation by you of an accepted booking will be subject to the cancellation provisions below in these terms and conditions.

 

2. Cancellation or Modification by Ceremonies by Leah

Every effort will be made to conduct the ceremony in accordance with your requirements, but I reserve the right, at my discretion, to modify or cancel your booking, and (in that event), I will return to you all money you have paid, or I will offer you alternative arrangements. No further or additional compensation will be payable.

 

3. Cancellation by You

If you cancel the ceremony after the booking is accepted, or the ceremony is cancelled due to non-payment of the balance of the booking fee, the deposit may be payable or forfeited.

 

4. Warranties and Liability

I warrant that the ceremony will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. I will have no liability to you in respect of any loss arising from incorrect instructions or booking details given by you or other fault on your part. My entire liability shall be limited to the amount paid by you in respect of the ceremony.

 

5. Intellectual Property

In making your booking, you acknowledge that the copyright and all other intellectual property in respect of the ceremony and all documentation or other materials used in or relating to the ceremony belongs to myself. You are licensed to record the ceremony for your own personal use and enjoyment, but you are not entitled to use it otherwise or publish the whole or any part of the ceremony or its materials without my express written permission.

 

6. Privacy and Protection of your Personal Data

I will need to retain your personal details electronically in order to create and deliver your Ceremony. I will never pass your personal details to any third party without your express permission.
